Our Mission
Welcome to Maranatha Missions in Mexico! We are established and active in reaching out to support Christian congregations both in Baja California Sur and mainland Mexico. In turn we partner together with them in outreach to others. Jesus’ command was to go into all the world and make disciples, teaching and baptizing them in His name. This is the basis for all that we do.

Maranatha Missions in Mexico is a not-for-profit organization based in the United States. It was formed in 2002 in order to support the activities of Maranatha Ministries south of the border.
Maranatha Missions in Mexico focuses in three distinct areas:
1. Ministering to the Indigenous Cora People of the Mexican State of Nayarit
High in the remote Sierra Madre Mountains in the Mexican state of Nayarit are the villages of the Cora. In 1962, Cecil and Faye Byers landed their Cessna airplane on the high mountain meadow of Santa Teresa.
Fast forward to today, and there are believers throughout many of the surrounding high mountain villages where the work of Cecil and Faye Byers continues to this day!
2. Providing a Christian Campground in Southern Baja
Campestre Maranatha, SA de CV, is Maranatha Mission’s sister charitable organization in Mexico. A devoted team of staff members and volunteers enable Maranatha Missions in Mexico to operate and grow.
Campestre Maranatha is a Christian campground located in La Paz, Baja California Sur, Mexico. As the only camp in the area, it is used by local churches, schools, and families for many different activities. It is also the base for Maranatha Missions in Mexico.
3. Assisting Mexican Churches Grow and Flourish
Maranatha Missions in Mexico supports churches that it has established. The organization takes the approach of “walking alongside,” in which it assists the churches that are typically pastored by someone from within the group.
